About MY PERFECT MISTAKE

What happens in Aspen is definitely not staying in Aspen . . .

A girls’ trip to Aspen was exactly what Shay needed to forget about her toxic ex-boyfriend. She’s got her girls, pristine slopes for skiing, and hot guys everywhere. Of course, her epic self-rediscovery goes completely to hell when a wild (and deliciously hot) skier knocks Shay on her ass . . . and war is declared.

Kolton doesn’t know what it is about Shay that makes him lose it. Not just his cool—although she does have an unholy gift for that—but his restraint. When anger gives way to explosive chemistry, they’re both shaken with the intensity of it. But somewhere between lust and hate, Kolton and Shay realize they could have something real . . . if they don’t kill each other first.

About Kelly Siskind

A small-town girl at heart, Kelly moved from the city to open a cheese shop with her husband in Northern Ontario. When she’s not neck deep in cheese or out hiking, you can find her, notepad in hand, scribbling down one of the many plot bunnies bouncing around in her head.

She laughs at her own jokes and has been known to eat her feelings—Gummy Bears heal all. She’s also an incurable romantic, devouring romance novels into the wee hours of the morning.

She is represented by Stacey Donaghy of the Donaghy Literary Group.

My 2015 Books in Review

I’m joining in on Jamie’s End of the Year Survey!

There are few things in life more important to a writer than reading amazing books from other writers. It was Stephen King who said, “If you don’t have time to read, you don’t have time to write.” How true this is! Reading is fuel and although I didn’t hit my goal of reading a published book a week (I’m at 49/52) and this is the FIRST year I didn’t exceed my reading goal (insert feelings of failure)… I DID manage to read about ten of my writer friend’s manuscript and I read own MS about 1900 times, so I’m going to call that a win 🙂

Disney World Reads!

Guess where I am?

PhotoPass_Visiting_Magic_Kingdom_Park_7530223530

Yup! We managed to pull off a huge family surprise and surprised my kids with a trip to Disney World! 24 Hours after we got there, we surprised them with my parents and brother showing up… then 24 hours later my sister and her family (which happen to be my kids’ BFFs) showed up! It was magical and SOOOOO much fun!

But I had to sneak on the blog to say that I’m still tearing through the Lunar Chronicles. I just got to Cress (book 3)… it’s so great guys!

And these covers… GORGEOUS! Check out the cover for book 2, Scarlet:

Each book centers around a different main protagonist (which correlates to a fairy tale if you can’t pick up from the covers) and they are all so uniquely amazing and I love them all!

I can’t wait for Winter, which I think may have the most beautiful cover of them all…

Okay, back to the family and Disney, but seriously guys! These books! ahh!

Book Recommendation: Cinder (Lunar Chronicles) by Marissa Meyer

11235712

Hardcover, 452 pages
Published February 5th 2013 by Feiwel and Friends
Summary:
Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She’s trying to break out of prison—even though if she succeeds, she’ll be the Commonwealth’s most wanted fugitive.
Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn’t know about her grandmother or the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother’s whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.
My Thoughts:
This is another series that is highly loved that I’m late in the game to read. It actually just completed (book 4 just came out) and so I’m going to get to binge read the ENTIRE series (yay!). This is so incredibly unique and lovely and you’re going to adore Cinder. This is the most unique fairy re-telling I’ve read… I think ever? I love how Cinder is strong and not the normal weak/wish-washy Cinderella characters. She’s amazing and I can’t wait to finish the series!

Officially a Sarah J Maas Fan Girl

Ladies and gentlemen…

I did something that may seem really late in the game to some. I finally started Sarah J Maas’ Throne of Glass series. I can’t believe I waited so long, but seriously… can you blame me? I saw this cover and was like WHAT is the big deal about this book?
7896527

I thought it looked like a paranormal book and I’m not a big paranormal fan…

Then I saw this cover a few years later and was all, “oooh, I want to read this book!” It took me a bit to realize that this book was actually the above book that came out in 2012…

Full-TOG

But y’all, I read this book and immediately started on book two and now I’m an official SARAH J MAAS FAN GIRL!

If you haven’t read this book series… DO IT NOW!
