Review of Jesus Killed My Church: Randy Bohlender

I immediately thought this was going to be very insightful just by the blunt title.

I was not disappointed as Randy took us on the journey of his life and showing how his biggest failures were actually what set him up for his biggest successes.

It was a great book that I really enjoyed reading and totally recommend!

Amazon Summary:
The test of our lifetime is not graded on our production but on our willingness to agree that the leadership of Jesus is perfect. Have you even been given every tool for success and managed to fail anyway? How do you react when you’re doing the very thing you were wired to do and all the wires get crossed? Jesus Killed My Church is the story of a church planter who had every reason to succeed, yet God had another idea. Or another definition of success.

Austenland: Shannon Hale

This was such a fun, easy read.
It’s a romance book about a woman obsessed with Jane Austen.

If you love Jane Austen, I’m pretty sure you’ll love this book!

4 stars and recommend!

Amazon Summary:
Jane is a young New York woman who can never seem to find the right man—perhaps because of her secret obsession with Mr. Darcy, as played by Colin Firth in the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. When a wealthy relative bequeaths her a trip to an English resort catering to Austen-obsessed women, however, Jane’s fantasies of meeting the perfect Regency-era gentleman suddenly become more real than she ever could have imagined. Is this total immersion in a fake Austenland enough to make Jane kick the Austen obsession for good, or could all her dreams actually culminate in a Mr. Darcy of her own?

Review of Juliet by Anne Fortier

I loved, loved, loved this book!

It had all the essential elements that keep me interested:
A deep and intriguing backstory
A love story
Action and adventure
Mystery
AND it’s about one of my most favorite cities in the world, Siena Italy.

It’s seriously so wonderful! Pick up this book and read it right now!
5 stars and totally recommend it!

Amazon Summary:
Twenty-five-year-old Julie Jacobs is heartbroken over the death of her beloved aunt Rose. But the shock goes even deeper when she learns that the woman who has been like a mother to her has left her entire estate to Julie’s twin sister. The only thing Julie receives is a key—one carried by her mother on the day she herself died—to a safety-deposit box in Siena, Italy.

This key sends Julie on a journey that will change her life forever—a journey into the troubled past of her ancestor Giulietta Tolomei. In 1340, still reeling from the slaughter of her parents, Giulietta was smuggled into Siena, where she met a young man named Romeo. Their ill-fated love turned medieval Siena upside-down and went on to inspire generations of poets and artists, the story reaching its pinnacle in Shakespeare’s famous tragedy.

But six centuries have a way of catching up to the present, and Julie gradually begins to discover that here, in this ancient city, the past and present are hard to tell apart. The deeper she delves into the history of Romeo and Giulietta, and the closer she gets to the treasure they allegedly left behind, the greater the danger surrounding her—superstitions, ancient hostilities, and personal vendettas. As Julie crosses paths with the descendants of the families involved in the unforgettable blood feud, she begins to fear that the notorious curse—“A plague on both your houses!”—is still at work, and that she is destined to be its next target. Only someone like Romeo, it seems, could save her from this dreaded fate, but his story ended long ago. Or did it?
